From Edmonton, Alberta, Krista's Métis identity emerges in the complex Canadian history that motivates a responsibility to enhance social justice for Indigenous peoples.  Currently a PhD candidate of Indigenous Education and with a JD in Law, Krista explores rights-based politics with the goal to navigate the complex world of human rights, Aboriginal rights, and traditional concepts of Being Human.  Other than her first career as an outdoor educator, Krista has since worked in areas of Aboriginal relations with government, community development and social justice initiatives with various organizations, and currently with the Aboriginal Commission on Human Rights & Justice.
